"Some're reading"

All year long I have to read lots of books that are "Good for me." Sometimes they are very delightful books that I would love to read anyway. But most of the time they are very educational, but not very enlightening, very intellectual, but not very clever. Many have much truth. But most of them are lacking in the beauty department. Therefore, I propose that a necessary criterion for a summer reading list is that the book must have a happy ending. They don't have to be happy books. The pages ahead might be dark and dangerous. But if I am going to be questing through them when I could be enjoying the summer sunshine, they had better have a eucatastrophe.
